A lifelong U.P. resident, and current Marquette resident, Katheryn joined our team in May of 2011. She received her B.S. in Accounting from Northern Michigan University (NMU) in May of 2012, graduating cum laude. After graduating, Katheryn continued on with her education and work experience, becoming a licensed CPA in May of 2015.
As a staff member of Thomson & Paquette, P.C., Katheryn works in various facets of accounting, but currently specializes in the preparation of payroll and payroll tax forms, financial statements, tax returns and ACA healthcare reporting. She also performs QuickBooks consulting, bookkeeping services and works with companies in developing accounting efficiencies through the use of technology.
While attending NMU, Katheryn served as treasurer for the Lambda Iota Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP), an international honor organization for financial information students and professionals. She also contributed her time to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, where she aided low-income individuals with tax preparation. Katheryn is a board member of the young professionals group 40 Below and has recently accepted a position as treasurer for the Willow Farm Therapeutic Riding Non-Profit Organization. She is also a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Katheryn is an active hobbyist with varying interests from soap making to playing the ukulele to taking rides on her motorcycle. She enjoys learning new skills, of all trades, and especially enjoys spending time outdoors.
